What is KONNAKOL? The best person to explain this is the Guru Keraikudi Mani, but in essense it means "that whatever you say, you have play." In the Carnatic tradition musicians are trained to be able to sing and play the same thing, turning their voices into an instrument that is part of the rhythm.
