On the Atlantic coast of Spain lies Cadiz. It was a major trading port at that time and in the 16th century they decided to copy the carnival in Venice, but in their own special way... with humor and cynicism. The people of Cadiz are known in Spain for their clever use of the Spanish language so it only fitting that over 100 singing groups every year compete with costume and songs, a competition that leads up to the beginning of the carnival. We follow the winners of the 2016 Comparsa Competition, the group formed by singer songwriter Antonio Martinez Ares, as they begin their five months of secret practice in October and then gradually progress to the final competition in February 2017.
