TUKUTA GORDILLO
Tukuta was born in the province of Jujuy in the north of Argentina, the son of a Bolivian miner. He learned music from his grandfather who played with bands in Peru. Tukuta has won numerous awards, worked with many other famous South American musicians, and traveled extensively throughout the world performing. Tukuta lives in Tilcara, Argentina which is crossed by the picturesque Quebrada de Humahuaca, through which runs the River Grande de Jujuy. From east to west it is crossed by the Tropic of Capricorn, which passes through the town of Huacalera. He takes us to a beautiful red mountain for his performance in this episode of The Listen Project.
